Review – Vanicream Sunscreen SPF 60

Having sensitive skin, when I use chemical sunscreen I break out into hives within a couple of minutes. So I now stick to physical sunscreens (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide). It took quite a while to find something that I could use on my face. I found Vanicream Sunscreen spf 60 and was happy that it did not irritate my skin. The trouble came when I tried to remove it. It is very hard to get off of the skin. I had more trouble removing it from my body than I did from my face and I can’t be sure exactly why. I tried several different oils and several different cleansers and my skin was feeling pretty raw once I finally removed it.

They say the best sunscreen for you is the one you will actually wear. Since I had so much trouble getting it off, I often found myself going out without any sunscreen on at all.

I discovered when looking for pricing for this item that it has been discontinued and replaced with an Spf 50+ version ($17.95 @ drugstore.com). I have seen some bad reviews where people want the old version back, so it may be different enough to give a try and see if it is easier to remove.

What is your go to sunscreen?
