I heard great things about this palette before seeing it come up on Hautelook for half price about a year or so ago. The palette normally retails for $42, but if you are interested I would wait for one of Thebalm’s 50% off sales or for it to return to Hautelook, which it frequently does. Considering that so many eyeshadow palettes either lack matte shades all together or they are limited, I thought this was a good way to get into wearing matte shadows. This is an especially good value at $21 when you get it for half off. I find that the colors show up well on me without needing to use a white or beige base. I can barely stand using an eyeshadow primer, so I don’t ever see myself adding another base on top of my primer to get another color to show up.
I sometimes feel like Matt Rosen and Matt Garcia are difficult to blend. However, I consider myself a beginner at eyeshadow, so I’m not entirely sure whether the problem is the colors or the brush I’m using, or my overall technique.
