Black Radiance True Complexion Contour Palette Review

Black Radiance True Complexion Contour PaletteI heard a couple people mention this palette, so I was curious to try it out when I saw it in the store.  I appreciate having any option for deeper skin tones, but I do feel like there was still something missing in this range  The light to medium palette didn’t look like the contour and sculpt shades were different enough to me.  After getting the medium to dark home to try, I’ve come to realize that for my skin tone, the sculpt shades just blends in.  If you are either lighter or darker than me, I think this will be a great option.  If you are lighter, the sculpt shade could work as a bronzer and if you are darker, it could work as a matte highlight powder.  I’d be interested to see how the light to medium shade ends up working out for people.

The texture of the contour and sculpt powders are soft to the touch, but not so soft that you think it will shatter if you drop it.  I did not have any issues with application, though I did notice there was a sheen to the skin where I applied the contour and sculpt powders.  If I wasn’t analyzing my face to be able to review the product, I’m not sure I would have noticed the shine it gave.

The highlight powder has a dryer texture, but it still picks up nicely on a brush without needing to dig in the pan.  I did notice some of the shimmer on areas of the face where I didn’t apply it, some times worse than others.  Overall, I don’t mind it, but I prefer the other highlights I have, which are more subtle.

I’d say the quality of the palette makes it a good buy and it is very affordable at just $7.99 on the Black Radiance website or $6.87 if you can find it at Walmart.
